Introduction
ABContracting Ltd is a family owned business based in Christchurch, New Zealand. We operate New Zealand wide and in the Pacific Islands.
ABContracting are civil construction specialists, that has spent most of its years within the energy, hazardous substance and sensitive site sectors. Having said that ABContracting has undertaken and successfully completed major projects in industrial, commercial, and residential fields with projects such as :
Major stormwater and drainage refit in a historical operational school with an excess of 1300 students
Remedial site works on highly contaminated and unstable land
Commercial carparks from both change of use and greenfield sites
Demolition of commercial and residential buildings
Sheet piling and dewatering on sites and public roadways
Foundations and structural concrete
Our energy sector projects take the above one step further.
We have completed many end to end “turn key” projects for gas storage and distribution in New Zealand and offshore. This includes two of the biggest energy companies in New Zealand and one of the major food manufacturing companies based out of the United States.

It’s not all about the big projects for ABContracting. We were contracted to decommission and/or remove over 30 gas storage vessels throughout New Zealand at operational service stations and remediate the land before leaving the site.
ABContracting has a residential arm that looks after the preparation of residential sections before the foundation is poured. We are the preferred contractor for one of the biggest housing companies in New Zealand.
